1. When is Noah's Ark Daycare Center closed? Noah's Ark Daycare is closed on the following days: -New Year’s Day -Martin Luther King Jr. Day -President's Day  -Memorial Day -Juneteenth -Independance Day -Labor Day -Indigenous People's Day -Veteran's Day -Two days observed for Thanksgiving -Two days observed for Christmas  -The last week of December for cleaning, training, and refurbishment.

2. Are you closed for inclement weather? We follow the South Kitsap School District for weather related school closures. If SKSD is delayed 2 hours, then the center will open at 8a, rather than 6a. If SKSD is closed, then we will be closed as well. If, during a windstorm, we lose power for longer than 2 hrs, the center will be shut down and parents will be called to pick up their children. Fortunately, we do not lose power often.

3. What is required for your teachers to work at Noah's Ark Daycare? All of the teacher's working in our center have passed a DCYF background check and have been fingerprinted. Other requirements include: * Negative TB test * MMR vaccine * 30 hrs of STARS training * CPR and BBP certificates * Food handler's card * Safe Sleep certificate * Continued yearly STARS training

4. Do you accept DSHS? Yes, but co-pays apply. We only enroll full time Working Connections families. Here is the DSHS website to sign up: http://www.washingtonconnection.org/home/

5. What is your policy on sick children? Generally, if a child is too sick to play outside, he/she is too sick to be at the center. A child should not be brought to the center and will be sent home if he/she is/has: -Running a temperature over 100.4 degrees or higher. -Vomiting (two or more times in the previous 24 hours) -Having diarrhea (two or more times, or if there is more than a drop of blood or mucus) -A rash not associated with heat, diapering, or an allergic reaction -Open sores or wounds discharging bodily fluids that cannot be adequately covered with a waterproof dressing or mouth sores with drooling. -Lice, ring worm, or scabies. We have a no nit policy. -Appears severely ill, which may include lethargy, persistent crying, difficulty breathing, or a significant change in behavior or activity level indicative of illness. Our policy is that when a child is sent home ill, they must be gone for a full school day before returning. For example, if a child is sent home on a Monday, they may not return until Wednesday. Doctor’s notes are not acceptable permission to return early. Children sent home with a draining rash, eye discharge, pink eye, or any other suspected serious illness will not be allowed to return to the center until all symptoms have cleared or per the discretion of the center director.

6. How do you communicate with parents? All parents are encouraged to download our Brightwheel app. With this app, you can pay your bill, have direct access to your child’s teacher and their daily activities, send and receive messages from your child's teacher as well as the director of the center. Parents of our infants will also receive a paper copy of their child’s daily activities, feeding and changes. In addition, we also have posters of our special events posted around the center as well as our facebook page.

7. Can someones besides myself and my spouse/partner, pick our child up from daycare? In order to keep your child safe while in our care, only people who have been added to our approved pick up list underneath your child's profile on Brightwheel, will be allowed to pick up your child. They must also have valid identification.

8. What security measures are in place to protect my child? Your child’s safety and your peace of mind are at the top of our priority list. Entry into our faciltiy is by coded entry only. When your child is registered, using our Brightwheel app, a specific code is assigned to your child that is used to safely check them in and out of the daycare. All visitors must show ID in our lobby to gain access into our facility. Our playgrounds are 100% fenced to ensure the safety of the children that attend our daycare.

9. Do you provide meals and snacks? Yes!! A nutritious breakfast is served daily at 7:30am to 8:00am. A nutritious snack is served in the morning and after nap. A nutritious lunch is served daily from 11:30am to 12:00 noon. The weekly menu is posted outside of the office. The menu is subject to change.

10. Do you offer part time care? At our center, you pay a flat monthly rate, which allows you to bring your child as little, or as often, as needed!

We've had nothing but a wonderul experience with Noah's Ark Daycare. Our daughter is not only well loved by her teachers, but also well taught.  Their staff is personable and you can see how much they love the kids they care for. The director, Amanda, is kind and has an open door policy. We know that if any issues were to arise, we'd feel comfortable bringing them to her attention. We are so happy we found Noah's Ark Daycare!!
